Maple Valley P.O.N.Y. Baseball (MVPBA) has offered a baseball program for the areas youth since 1971. MVPBA is a member of the national organization, P.O.N.Y. Baseball, Inc. P.O.N.Y. is an acronym for Protect Our Nations Youth. P.O.N.Y. baseball differs from other baseball leagues in the following ways:

  • Two year age bracketing
  • Age specific diamond sizes
  • Play by Major Leaue Baseball rules
  • Offer summer "All Star" tournament play
  • Four year olds can play
  • 6U is coach pitch (not T-ball)
  • 8U is coach and kid pitch
  • 22-26 game season.

PONY baseball seeks to implant in the youth of the community ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage and respect for authority so that they will be finer, stronger and happier youth who will grow up to be good, clean and healthy adults. This objective will be reached by providing supervised competitive games. The supervisors shall bear in mind at all times that the attainment of exceptional athletic skill or the winning of games is secondary and that the molding of future citizens is of prime importance.
